Aaron Judge 61 Home Run Watch: Sportsbooks Cashing Out on Bettors Hammering Yankees Slugger to Make History This Week

After New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hit his 60th home run of the season in dramatic fashion last week, sports fans all over have been intently watching his every at-bat, hoping to see him tie Roger Maris’ American League record of 61 home runs.

Unfortunately, he’s still sitting at No. 60 a week later, and sportsbooks are reaping the benefits.

Per Caesar’s Sportsbook analyst Max Meyer, the most bets of any MLB wager on Tuesday night were for Judge to hit a home run at +195. It was the fifth time in the six days since Judge hit his 60th home run that his home run prop was the most bet wager on the MLB board.

Aaron Judge Still Searching For 61

Not only have bettors been anxiously awaiting Judge’s 61st home run, but Maris’ family has been traveling around with the Yankees with hopes of being in attendance when the outfielder breaks their dad’s record.

“It’s mixed emotions,” Maris’ son, Roger Jr., said on Fox’s broadcast before a game last week via NY Post. “We want to see Aaron do really, really well. We want to see him have a big night tonight hopefully, and a big night the rest of the week and finish out the year strong.

“Once again, we like the record, we’re proud of the record, but I think it’s kind of inevitable, he’s probably going to break it at this point the way he’s hitting the ball, the way he’s hitting the ball the last couple of weeks. We’re not expecting the record at the end of the year, but kudos to Aaron for the year he’s having and I wish him the best of luck for sure.”

On Tuesday night, the Blue Jays felt the rage of bettors and Yankees fans across the country when they walked Judge in three of his four plate appearance.

The Blue Jays will host the Yankees one more time on Wednesday night, and Judge’s home run prop is currently set at +205 for the matchup.
