College Football Prediction and Odds: Clemson Can’t Afford Slip-Up at Notre Dame

For Week 10 of the college football season, there are 10 games that feature an ACC team, headlined by the No. 4 Clemson Tigers traveling to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Below are two of those ACC games and the best bets for each.

College Football Odds: Notre Dame-Clemson Prediction

Does the Clemson QB Controversy Continue?

Coming off a bye week, Clemson had some issues in their last game against Syracuse. They squeaked out a 27-22 win. Still, quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei was benched after completing just 13 of 18 passes for 138 yards and two interceptions. Uiagalelei has been OK this season, completing 63.8% of his passes for 1,804 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’s had success against Notre Dame in the past, but that came in 2020 when he threw for 439 yards and two scores.

In this game, the key for Notre Dame will be running the ball well enough to keep Clemson off the field and the clock ticking. Notre Dame quarterback Drew Pyne hasn’t been bad this season. However, he doesn’t throw a ton, ranking 103rd in the country in completions among all quarterbacks with at least 175 dropbacks.

This Clemson defense has done well against the run this season, allowing less than 3 yards per carry, 87.9 yards per game and just five total touchdowns. If the Tigers want any hope of making the playoff, they can’t stumble here.

Notre Dame-Clemson Prediction: Clemson -3.5 (-110) DraftKings

College Football Odds: North Carolina State-Wake Forest Prediction

North Carolina State QB Position in Constant Flux

There’s no denying how well this North Carolina State defense has played this year, but on their third quarterback, this could be a problem in a battle against another top-22 team. North Carolina State is 0-5 against the spread in their last five games against FBS opponents. They rank 23rd in yards rushing allowed, 28th in yards passing allowed and 18th in total defense. Still, at some point, with so many quarterback changes, they can only rely on that for so long.

M.J. Morris did well last week under center, passing for 265 yards and three touchdowns. But Wake Forest, despite ranking 70th in the country with nearly 380 yards of offense allowed per game, are 17th in the nation in yards passing per game at just under 300. They had an abysmal showing last week with an obscene number of turnovers, but their offense should get it done even against this more potent defense.

North Carolina State-Wake Forest Prediction: Wake Forest -4.0 (-110) DraftKings
