Antonio Gibson vs. Brian Robinson: Which Commanders Running Back Has More Value For Week 13?

Will Antonio Gibson or Brian Robinson shine in Week 13? Ahead of the Washington Commanders‘ game against the New York Giants, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Gibson, who has been dealing with a foot injury, will be active for the game. Given the developments, let’s take a look at the Antonio GibsonBrian Robinson fantasy football and DFS ranking and see which running back ranks better for Sunday.

Antonio GibsonBrian Robinson Fantasy Football & DFS Rankings

Per Stokastic’s weekly running back rankings, Antonio Gibson (No. 21 on the board) ranks slightly better than Brian Robinson (No.23). And using Stokastic’s player compare tool, Gibson projects to have 12.71 points, while Robinson projects out at 11.93.

Stokastic’s DFS rankings also have Gibson ($5,200) listed as a more valuable play than Robinson ($5,300), but be sure to use Stokastic’s tools to answer any questions for the remainder of the season.

Since returning from the IR to begin the season, it’s been Robinson who has taken over for the Commanders in the traditional running back role, but Gibson certainly still provides the team (and fantasy owners) with value given his pass-catching prowess. The Commanders have also shown a willingness to use both backs at the same time, even spreading out Gibson or using him as a slot receiver.

Starting in six of his eight games, Robinson has rushed for 467 yards and two scores, but has only managed six receptions out of the backfield. Gibson has 476 rushing yards and three touchdowns, but it’s his 40 receptions for 306 yards that make him a fantasy football nightmare for teams going up against him.

Expect Robinson and Gibson to both see around equal playing time against the Giants, but with the receiving threat, Gibson is the slightly smarter play here.
