Browns vs. Bills Weather Report: Winter May Be Coming to Buffalo

NFL fans could be in for a classic snow game when the Buffalo Bills host the Cleveland Browns in Week 11.

With Buffalo desperately hoping to get back in the win column after back-to-back losses, weather reports are warning people that some severe snowfall could be coming to the area this weekend.

Browns-Bills Weather Report

Per The Weather Channel, a “lake effect snow” is expected to hit Buffalo beginning on Friday and lasting throughout the weekend, with at least four feet of snow expected to accumulate.

“This will be the start of a prolonged lake-effect snow event which will likely include paralyzing snowfall for the Buffalo and Watertown areas late this week through the weekend,” the National Weather Service office in Buffalo wrote in its forecast discussion on Wednesday morning.

The Bills are planning to practice indoors this week but are preparing as if the game will continue for its original time slot on Sunday afternoon.

“I know our team is in communication with the NFL,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday. “They’ve been through it before, we’ve been through it before. The football team has to get ready to play a game and execute.”

Luckily for the Bills and Browns (but perhaps not the fans who love a good snow game), the forecast calls for just an 18% chance of precipitation during the day on Sunday.

Of course, Bills Mafia will show out in full force with or without a snowstorm.

“This is a resilient town, all the people with snowplows and snowmobiles and all that type of jazz, I’m sure they’ll chip in and lend a hand,” McDermott said. “We’ve got a lot of guys from Florida, down south and out west that have never seen snow before. Our development team does a great job — they equip them with scrapers and deicing mechanisms. We’ve already started to plan … what happens if we can’t get in (practices) Friday, can’t in Saturday … We’re working on that also.”

The Bills (6-3) remain the betting favorite to win the Super Bowl this season despite their recent string of unfortunate losses, but they’re now tied with the New York Jets for second place in the AFC East behind the new-look Miami Dolphins (7-3).

Per DraftKings, Buffalo is currently a 8.5-point favorite against the Browns, with the over/under set at 41.
