Chicago Bears Odds to Make Playoffs: Team Sees Slight Shift Following Upset Win Over Patriots on MNF

During their storied time as an NFL franchise, the Chicago Bears had never gone into Foxboro and came out with a victory against the New England Patriots, until Monday night. Despite coming into the primetime matchup as heavy underdog against Bill Belichick’s seemingly stout defense, the Bears rolled to a rather easy 33-14 win.

Prior to the game, the Bears were tied with the Houston Texans for worst odds to win the Super Bowl (+100,000 via DraftKings) but have since seen a slight bump in their team futures.

To Win Super Bowl: +50,000

To Win NFC: +20,000

To Win NFC North: +5,000

Regular season wins: Over 5.5 -130/ Under 5.5 +110

Chicago Bears Odds to Make the Playoffs

Despite coming away victorious on Monday night, the Bears remain heavy underdogs at +1600 to qualify for the postseason in any way. Still, the win should serve as a confidence-booster for a young, rebuilding team.

After putting up just 7 points in a loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 6, quarterback Justin Fields used his running ability to keep the Patriots defense off-guard all night long, controlling the game from the jump.

It total, Fields went 13-for-21 for 179 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also ran 14 times (mostly scripted) for a game-high 82 yards and a touchdown.

“We had a chance to take a breath during the (mini) bye week and really figure out what we needed to do and needed to adjust what we’re doing well,” coach Matt Eberflus said via the official transcript. “And some things we needed to tweak a little bit and no big changes but just some things that — to enhance our player skill sets. And I thought we did a good job with that.”

Sure, the Bears will likely not be making any deep run to the playoffs this season, but with their win over the Patriots, they were able to provide Chicagoans with hope that the future may not be so bad.
