Falcons vs. Commanders Weather Report: Rain Continues to Push Betting Total Down

The Washington Commanders will be looking to keep up their resurgent stretch when welcoming the Atlanta Falcons to FedEx Field in Week 12. But the two teams might have to face some tough conditions. Prior to the matchup, reports for rain began to surface, which shifted the betting line slightly.

Falcons-Commanders Betting Odds

Check out the latest odds, per DraftKings.

  • Spread: Falcons +3.5 (-105), Commanders +3.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Falcons +165, Commanders -195
  • Total: Over 40.5 (-110), Under 40.5 (-110)

According to The Weather Channel, rain is already falling in the Nation’s Capital, and it’s supposed to persist throughout most of the Falcons-Commanders game. The conditions have already altered the betting line in the game.

Per BetMGM‘s John Ewing, the Commanders opened as a three-point favorite, and the total was at 42.5 before continuing to move down throughout the week. Per the latest report, 69% of bets and 66% of money is on the Commanders to cover the spread, 61% of bets and 79% of money is on the Washington moneyline, and 60% of bets and 68% of money is on the over at 40.5.

It’s no secret that the Commanders are receiving such a heavy backing after what they’ve been able to accomplish lately. Washington has won five of their last six games, including wins over the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans in their past two games. Moreover, quarterback Taylor Heinicke has gone 10-2 against the spread in his last 12 games started for Washington.

The Falcons are coming off a back-and-forth win against a rebuilding Chicago Bears team and will likely be using their stout running attack to beat the conditions in Washington, D.C. Atlanta is third in the NFL in yards rushing per game with 159.4. However, Washington has been stingy against the run, ranking the fifth-least fantasy football points on the ground.

Expect a low-scoring battle in Washington on Sunday in the rain. Under 40.5 is the play.
