Jeff Wilson Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook: Raheem Mostert Doubtful For Week 12

After being traded from the San Francisco 49ers to the Miami Dolphins mid-season, running back Jeff Wilson Jr. has slowly been given the bulk of the carries over Raheem Mostert. With Mostert now doubtful against the lowly Houston Texans, let’s take a look at Wilson’s fantasy football & DFS rankings.

Jeff Wilson Jr. Fantasy Football Week 12

Per Stokastic’s weekly running back rankings, Jeff Wilson Jr. (No. 4 on the board) ranks well ahead of any Dolphins running back and should be in for a big afternoon against the Texans defense. Using Stokastic’s player compare tool, Wilson projects out at 19.86 fantasy points.

In DFS, Stokastic’s expert projections also consider Wilson ($5,900) a strong value play for Sunday’s slate.

After playing 49% of his snaps in his Dolphins debut against the Bears in Week 9, Wilson played over 60% of the team’s snaps and proved his worth in Miami’s last game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10. He had 17 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown, adding two receptions of five targets for 24 yards.

“He’s a physical guy that you can count on to bring that physicality and tone sets in that regard,” Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said of Wilson via Dolphins Wire. “Great teammate. And he’s a guy that doesn’t – you always really gravitate towards people that expect nothing given to them and enjoy the process of earning stuff, and that’s the way he’s always been. He’s always been very – he’s been around very competitive backfields and he’s always rooted for his teammates, and is one of the locker room’s favorite players, while also trying to do his best and whatever he can to help the team. So I couldn’t be happier with the person that we’re bringing to Dolphins.”

Wilson and Mike McDaniel spent time together in San Francisco, where McDaniel served as offensive coordinator before taking the Dolphins gig, so picking up the offense shouldn’t be any issue.

Expect Wilson to get even more action against the Texans on Sunday afternoon as the clear lead running back.
