Josh Allen Injury News: Bills-Vikings Week 10 Odds Moving With Quarterback’s Status in Question

Will the Buffalo Bills be without star quarterback Josh Allen for their game with the 7-1 Minnesota Vikings in NFL Week 10?

After a 20-17 loss to the New York Jets in Week 9, Allen was being evaluated for a potential UCL injury. On Wednesday, Bills coach Sean McDermott said Allen is dealing with some ligament damage in his UCL and is currently considered “day to day.”

“My understanding is it is a UCL sprain, I believe is the proper term, which is a tiny tear. Some sort of an injury to his UCL, his throwing [elbow],” NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said on “The Insiders” podcast. “If you watch it in slow motion, it’s a lot worse.

“It seems like something that Josh Allen will be able to manage. I do not know for sure — 100 percent sure — that he will play this week. But it sounds like a short-term injury and it sounds like something that the team believes he will be able to play through.”

Seemingly responding to good news on Allen’s injury, Bills receiver Stefon Diggs took to social media to share his feeling of relief.

“Rejoice…” Diggs tweeted.

Despite coming into Week 9 as the MVP favorite (find current odds here), Allen turned in his worst performance of the year against the Jets, completing just 18 0f 34 passes for 204 yards and two interceptions. The quarterback made no excuses for the forgettable performance.

“It’s tough to win in this league when you’re playing a good team and your quarterback plays like s—,” Allen said. “I made some bad decisions (today), really cost our team. A lot to learn from, a lot to grow from, but that’s not the standard we hold ourselves to. That’s not the ball that we play. A lot to look at, a lot to learn from.”

If Allen isn’t able to go in Week 10, it’ll be backup quarterback (and former Viking) Case Keenum under center for the Bills.

With the uncertainty, the Bills are down to 3.5-point favorites at some sports books. The Bills opened as 9-point favorites before the line was bet down to 7.5.
