Keenan Allen Injury Update: Where the Chargers Receiver Ranks After Being Cleared to Play Week 7

The Los Angeles Chargers will be getting a huge boost to their offense on Sunday afternoon.

After suffering a hamstring injury during Week 1, Keenan Allen has been out for the past five weeks while recovering. But ahead of the Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks, Allen told Chargers beat writer Bridget Condon that he will be playing.

Following the update, let’s see where Allen ranks for fantasy football against the Seahawks defense.

Keenan Allen Fantasy Football Ranking For Week 7

Per Stokastic wide receiver rankings for Week 7, Allen is a sure starter in any league, ranked as the 21st receiver on the board.

The veteran receiver has been missed dearly by the Chargers offense since he has been sidelined. Last year, Allen was one of the more productive receivers in the NFL. He had 106 receptions for 1,138 yards and six touchdowns.

Allen’s return should provide a big boost for Justin Herbert‘s fantasy football owners, as well. Despite coming into the season as one of few front-runners to win the MVP Award, Herbert ranks as just the eighth-best quarterback in fantasy points thus far.

He has 10 touchdowns to go along with just three interceptions on the season. But struggled against a tough Denver Broncos defense before leading a game-winning drive to come away with a 16-13 win on Monday Night Football.

Herbert has been a little dinged up, too, after suffering a ribs injury in Week 1, but has been able to play through the pain so far. With Allen back alongside Herbert, perhaps there’s reason to believe they’re about to take off as an offensive unit.
