Mike McDaniel Now Favored to Win Coach of the Year Following the Dolphins’ Wild Win Over Ravens on Sunday

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is a pretty popular guy right about now.

Despite coming into his first season on the job under somewhat of a controversy due to Brian Flores’ firing, the offensive-minded McDaniel seems to be maximizing the potential of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa through the first two games, with the climax of the 2-0 start being a wild comeback win on Sunday over the Ravens.

Despite being down 21 points in the second half, Tagovailoa rallied the Dolphins for a wild 42-38 win on Sunday afternoon. And shortly thereafter, McDaniel took over as the betting favorite to win this year’s Coach of the Year Award.

After the comeback win, McDaniel said he was preaching to his team about dealing with adversity, but perhaps they took it a little bit too literal.

“We just had a game where we were able to have the lead the whole game. So, the night before, I told the guys that I was really hoping that we would get some adversity in this game, and I wanted to see how we respond to a deficit. Apparently, they took me way too literal,” McDaniel said via PFT.

Just two games into the NFL season, McDaniel already has a re-invigorated Dolphins squad at 2-0, and confident that they can compete with anybody in the league.

Perhaps we’ll hear some more noise out of Miami all season long.
