What a letdown of a season opener for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance, only passing for 164 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception for a lousy 42 QBR rating.
But Week 2 in the NFL is all about ignoring the Week 1 narrative. Let’s bet on a bounce back from Lance.
The 49ers are big favorites over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, playing at home against a defense that allowed 18 rushing touchdowns last season and over 100 yards on the ground against the Denver Broncos.
Smells like an opportunity we can’t pass up.

Trey Lance to find the end zone today is at an excellent number of +155. With no Elijah Mitchell and either no or a limited George Kittle, Lance is primed to have a surplus of chances. Het gets the Seahawks coming off a somewhat of a “Super Bowl” type win beating their old franchise quarterback in Russell Wilson on Monday Night Football. Statistically, the Seahawk’s defense is far from fearful.
Defensive tackle Poona Ford owns a measly run defensive grade of 40 ranking him 108th out of 121 defensive linemen. Defensive end Terrell Taylor is just as lousy ranking 47th out of 88 defensive ends. The two linebackers that will be tasked to contain Lance on Sunday are not that great either. Jordan Brooks has a run defense grade of 57 ranking him 39th out of 79 total linebackers. To his left is Cody Barton, who ranks even worse with a run defense rating of 26 ranking him 78th of 79 gradable linebackers in the NFL.
It should be noted that safety Jamal Adams is OUT today and is arguably their best-run defender.
With 13 rush attempts in Week 1 for zero touchdowns, this is a great spot to buy the 49ers quarterback to find paydirt.
