FREE NHL PICKS TODAY: Panthers Puckline & Shea Theodore Player Prop Bets | Thursday 3/24/22

Thursday night means it’s a busy NHL betting night with 10 games on the schedule to scour over. The dust has settled from the trade deadline, and now teams and players can focus on winning or hitting individual bonuses. With so many games it is difficult finding the best NHL bets, but with projections, expected ROI and win percentage included in Awesemo’s OddsShopper it makes things a lot more manageable. There’s plenty to get through, so let’s make some NHL betting picks today for Thursday’s games.

NHL Picks Today: Best Hockey Bets & Player Props

Panthers -1.5 Puckline vs. Canadiens (-110, DraftKings)

It looks like NHL betting markets went out to lunch on this line, as the Florida Panthers should dominate the league’s doormat in Montreal. The Panthers are tied for second in the league in points (90) and continue to play great hockey, going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. They’ve been absolutely dominant when on the puck, with the league’s best Corsi-for by nearly 2 percentage points as well as being the only team in the league to average more than four goals per game. Montreal has improved slightly after a pitiful start to the year, but they still come in dead last in overall points and are bottom third in every defensive metric known to man. With the risk also comes the reward, as this bet on DraftKings only has a 1.1% hold, which is tops on any site for any NHL pick today.

Basically, this game will come down to how many lapses the Panthers have on defense or in the net, which may be irrelevant anyways, with an implied goal total certain to push 4.5.

Shea Theodore Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+100, Caesars)

At even money it is difficult to find a better NHL shot prop bet than this one for Shea Theodore, as the Knights defenseman slots in with the second-highest expected ROI on the night and expected win percentage at 60%. Theodore and the Knights have been in a tailspin lately but grab a nice matchup here with the Nashville Predators, who far and away take the most penalties. This should translate well for the team’s power-play quarterback who averages north of 23 minutes per game.

This bet brings it altogether, as Theodore also projects more than half of a shot over the current line on the books, per Awesemo NHL projections. He should see plenty of opportunities in this one unless Nashville finds some reserve. Vegas has struggled recently but needs to find something as they hang onto their playoff spot in the West.
