2022 CJ Cup Betting Odds and Trends: Bettors All Over Jordan Spieth Despite Star-Studded PGA Field

The CJ Cup weekend is upon us.

While the professional golf event was previously held in South Korea, it had been moved to Las Vegas due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years. This year, the event will be held at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Sure enough, a star-studded field headlined by the 2022 FedEx Cup winner, Rory McIlroy will be playing this weekend.

Check out the full betting odds for the CJ Cup below, via DraftKings:

Jordan Spieth Receiving Most Public Backing For CJ Cup

Per BetMGM's John Ewing, Spieth has the most tickets on him at 8.3%, followed by Collin Morikawa (6.8%) and Justin Thomas (6.7%). Spieth also leads the way with 19.8% of money on him, with Sam Burns (10.1%) and Rory McIlroy (9.8%) closely behind.

Perhaps it's Spieth's performance in the President's Cup in September that has bettors so bullish on him. During the US Team's route of the Internationals, Spieth became just the sixth golfer ever to post a 5-0-0 record at the event.

Having lost three successive Presidents Cup singles bouts from 2013 through 2017, Spieth was left off the American's roster for the 2019 event -- when Tiger Woods led a dramatic comeback as the captain for the US team -- which made Spieth's performance in 2022 even more special.

“I was more nervous than I probably should have been today just because I want to get that monkey off my back,” he said.

“It feels really good. When you go out early as I’ve done pretty much every team event on a Sunday, they’re looking for red on the board, and it feels good to finally provide that.”

Now, Spieth finds himself as a much more confident golfer heading into the upcoming PGA season, and he can make bettors everywhere very happy with a strong showing in the CJ Cup.
