Wells Fargo Championship Betting Picks & PGA Predictions
In this weekly article, Awesemo’s golf experts will give their expert PGA Tour picks this week, as well as going over the best odds and their favorite golf betting predictions for the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship.
Ben Rasa’s Pick: Tyrrell Hatton
Outright: 36-1 (FanDuel Sportsbook)
Similar to last week, we first have to dodge an elite player in Rory McIlroy at the top of the board. If we are able to do that, there are a bunch of interesting outright prices, including those on Tyrrell Hatton, who has played solid golf all season. Outside of the Masters, where he wasn’t in contention, Hatton is in the mix each and every week, and the ball-striking numbers lead the way. With the approach numbers this strong, and heading to a layout that should benefit a second-shot skillset, finding a number north of 30-1 (and you can find all of the best PGA odds on the OddsShopper Golf Betting page) was good enough for me to take a shot.
Jason Rouslin’s Pick: Cameron Davis
Outright & Each Ways: Multiple Sportsbooks
One of the newest tools here at Awesemo.com is our OddsShopper tool, as Ben Mentioned above. Within seconds of loading up the page and clicking Cam Davis’s name, I had the best odds offered from every bet on him this week, from matchups to first-round leader to top-fives. Davis is coming off of a season-best performance at the RBC Heritage, where he found great form over the weekend, including a career-best ball-striking performance, and if repeated, that would put him near the top of the field this week. His best odds for an outright bet this week comes over on DraftKings where he’s 100-1. His best top-five, top-10 and top-20 (each way) odds come at FanDuel, where he’s +1900, +1000 and +410, respectively.
Geoff Ulrich’s Pick: C.T. Pan
Outright: +8000 (DraftKings) | Top 5: +1400 (DraftKings)
After just missing out on a big top-five hit last week with David Lipsky (who missed an eagle putt by inches on the last hole), I’ll stick with the longshot theme and target C.T. Pan this week. Pan played fine in Mexico, making his fourth cut in a row and finishing 29th. He opened with a round of 5 under par but simply hasn’t had that big week around or on the greens yet to get him in contention. Everything else is working fine, though, and he’s gained strokes on approach in six straight starts and off the tee in three straight. From a fit perspective, this week feels like an upgrade for Pan. He ranks 23rd in birdie-or-better percentage and seventh in bogey avoidance over the last 24 rounds, which is great for a tougher test like TPC Potomac. Pan finished 17th at Potomac in the 2018 Quicken Loans and shot three rounds of 68 or better. At odds that are higher than last week, there’s good value in chasing the big hit once again.
