2022 World Cup No House Advantage Player Props: Paqueta Shooting Boots Are Missing for Brazil

There are two more Round of 16 games Monday at the 2022 World Cup. So far, the chalk has won out in the knockout round, so it will be interesting to see if Three No House Advantage World Cup player props for Croatia-Japan and Brazil-South Korea stand out in terms of value.

No House Advantage World Cup Player Props

Nikola Vlasic Under 0.5 Shots on Goal

The first World Cup player prop for Monday is favoring Nikola Vlasic to stay under 0.5 shots on goal for Croatia against Japan. Vlasic has played only 63 minutes so far in Qatar and is not slated to start. He has two total shots, with one on frame. In the past year, he has averaged 2.07 shots per 90 minutes for club and country, with only 0.87 of those being on target. A SoT% of 41% is nothing to write home about, which leans into fading him to get a shot on target.

Even if Vlasic comes on as a substitute, Japan does most of its work in the second half. Especially if Croatia has the advantage, the last 30 minutes or so will be all Samurai Blue. The only risk here is that the match goes into extra time and Vlasic is able to capitalize on weathered legs. That is a risk worth taking against one of Croatia’s least inspiring attackers.

Maya Yoshida Under 65.5 Passes

The next World Cup player prop is for Maya Yoshida to attempt fewer than 65.5 passes for Japan against Croatia. Frankly, this is a crazy number for a player who attempted 39 and 22 passes, respectively, against Germany and Spain. Likewise, Croatia likes to control the ball through the midfield. Though the possession grapple might not reach the lengths of those aforementioned nations, you have to expect Japan to sit back and wait for its moment to counter.

Yoshida did attempt 122 passes against Costa Rica and normally attempts 48.3 per 90 minutes. The defender simply will not reach those heights Monday. Japan is better when it plays off the ball and can press. So, if it wants a chance at the quarterfinals, this game plan will be unfolded once more. As a result, do not expect Yoshida to get anywhere near 65.5 attempted passes.

Lucas Paqueta Under 1.5 Total Shots

The last World Cup player prop has Lucas Paqueta to stay under 1.5 total shots for Brazil against South Korea. Paqueta has played 119 minutes at the 2022 World Cup but has yet to get a shot on target. Better yet, the West Ham playmaker has yet to take a shot at all.

He is expected to make his third start Monday, but with Neymar back in the 11, you have to wonder how much offense will come to the feet of Paqueta. He does normally take 2.72 shots per 90, but this is a statistic that does not translate as successfully with Brazil. In fact, he has stayed under this prop total in four of his past six games with Seleção Canarinho. If Paqueta does make an impact, expect it to be more in the build-up rather than the finishing.
