Mac Jones Injury News: Patriots Quarterback Goes Down With Leg Injury Late in Ravens Loss

The New England Patriots took the loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon. But perhaps something more worrisome than their level of play in Week 3 is the injury sustained to quarterback Mac Jones.

Late in the game, Jones limped to the sidelines without putting any weight on his left leg.

After the game, it was reported that Jones was going through more tests on his leg, and head coach Bill Belichick would provide no further update during his press conference. Jones will be meeting with the media tomorrow, where we’re expected to hear more about the severity of his injury.

On the afternoon, Jones completed 22 of 32 passes for 321 yards, but it was his three interceptions that proved to be costly during the 37-26 loss to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

Since Training Camp, the Patriots offense has been ridiculed after Belichick’s head-scratching decision to appoint defensive-minded Matt Patricia as his offensive play-caller in wake of Josh McDaniels leaving to take the Las Vegas Raiders head coach position.

So far, Jones has not clicked in Patricia’s offense, but  the QB has been nothing but complimentary of the new coaches hired to get the most out of his talents.

“I think Matt, he’s done a great job,” said Jones to USA Today. “He’s one of the most brilliant people I’ve ever been around in terms of football knowledge. Between all the coaches we have, they’ve done a great job preparing us. He’s really starting to get a feel for it. That’s the thing, he’s just growing each week and making sure that we can stack good days together.

“He’s very easy to talk to on the sideline, very easy, laid-back kind of type coach but he demands a lot, and I respect that about him. Hopefully we can grow for a long time.”

If Jones has to miss time, it’ll be veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer who faces the challenge of going up against the Green Bay Packers next weekend.
