Just when it looked like the Las Vegas Aces had the 2022 WNBA Finals wrapped-up, the Connecticut Sun came out and delivered an incredible Game 3 performance. The win forced a Game 4 on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET in Connecticut.

The Sun played outstanding in Game 3, beating the Aces by 29 points. They handed Las Vegas one of its worst losses of the season and ultimately embarrassed them on the national stage. Although Connecticut won by a large margin, it’s worth noting that the Aces managed to mount a few comeback attempts in the process. The Sun went on a late run when most of Vegas’ starters had been pulled, making the final score look worse than it really was.
Still, Game 3 was one of the best offensive games that Connecticut played all year. They had all five starters score in double-digits and their bench players combined for 26 points. DeWanna Bonner came alive for her Sun squad for the first time in the series. She tallied 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Sun starters Jonquel Jones and Alyssa Thomas also put up impressive stat lines.
Connecticut also played stout defensively, holding the Aces to just 76 points. That’s 15 points lower than Las Vegas’ regular season (league-leading) average of 91 PPG. The Aces shot themselves in the foot by posting 16 turnovers, 7 more than their opponents. They also lost the rebounding battle in Game 3 by 14 boards. All-in-all, Vegas looked complacent and unmotivated. Don’t expect that to continue in Game 4.

The first note to make when betting this game is that it’s basically a pick ’em. At this point in the year it’s unlikely that point spreads will come into play. The best play for tonight is to once again roll with the Aces ML (-110).
We can expect this Las Vegas team to play like themselves in Game 4. They have been the team to beat all season and if they are as good as everyone thinks they are, they won’t allow this series to be extended any further. While the game is in Connecticut again, the home crowd can’t possibly will their team to play another nearly-flawless game like they played on Thursday night.
