Take a look at the best WNBA picks today, as well as the Game 3 Sky vs. Liberty Game 3 WNBA playoff prediction tonight.

Sky vs. Liberty Game 3 WNBA Playoff Prediction

This series has seen both teams have one successful game so far. After New York upset the Sky in the opening matchup, Chicago had a huge 38-point win in a bounce-back Game 2. As this series heads to New York for a closeout game, both teams will need to play their best in order to advance to the next round.

Both teams’ injury reports for this one are clean. After a brief scare at a practice after Game 1, Chicago guard Kahleah Copper shined in Game 2. She scored in double figures in just the first quarter and finished with 20 points. Copper is averaging 20.5 points per game in this series, which isn’t surprising considering how hot she finished the regular season. She also has a noted history of playing some of her best ball in the most important situations. Just last season, she won the Finals MVP after the Sky won the championship. Copper, Candace Parker and Courtney Vandersloot are going to be vital in determining how this series ends. The good news for them is that they have plenty of experience.

The Liberty got completely dominated on both sides of the floor last game. They had 13 turnovers in the first half and ended with 19 on the night. They had worse field goal, 3-point and free-throw percentages than Chicago. New York also got out outrebounded by 17. From Game 1 to Game 2, the Liberty’s stats and percentages dropped across the board, which had much to do with the Sky’s defensive adjustments. Chicago also found more success with their double-teams than they did in the first matchup. That same defensive gameplan will be utilized in the series finale, which should bode well for their hopes at a deep playoff push.

As previously stated, the Sky got some solid play out of their stars in Game 2. The same can’t be said for New York, as they only had two players score in double figures: Backups Han Xu and Michaela Onyenwere. Star players Sabrina Ionescu and Natasha Howard combined for 15 points, and the Liberty starters combined for just 23. For context, Chicago’s starting five dropped 64 points. This differential points to the true talent gap between these two teams, along with the massive amount of playoff experience that the Sky have.

In a closeout game, with their backs against the wall, Chicago will come out firing once again. They are a talented, veteran team that knows how to win on the road (12-6 in the regular season) and in big games. New York is on the right track, but they aren’t ready to make a run. Expect the Sky to handle the Liberty with ease and move on to the next round.

WNBA Playoff Prediction Today: Chicago Sky -6.5 (-110)
