How to Bet UFC 269 Poirier vs. Oliveira: Expert UFC Betting Picks Tonight

Bruno Silva vs. Jordan Wright

In a battle of exciting middleweights, Bruno Silva will be taking on the Beverly Hills Ninja, Jordan Wright. This fight should be fun while it lasts, as both have been finishing machines in and out of the UFC. Silva has won both of his UFC bouts by finish, beating Wellington Turman in the first round and Andrew Sanchez in the third round. Wright, on the other hand, is 2-1 in the UFC with both of his wins by first-round knockout; and his only loss was by early second-round knockout to Joaquin Buckley. Silva is a massive -320 favorite in this fight and the moneyline on him is a tough straight wager to make — he would be more of a parlay piece. The comeback on Wright is a bit more intriguing at +250, but it’s hard to feel confident on either side in this fight. Where the value comes in is the distance props. With both being great finishers, this is the area to attack and the bettors are almost getting plus-money on the fight not starting the second round. If you are afraid that the fight hits the second round, the bettor can always bet the under 1.5, but that line is sitting around -165 for an extra 2.5 minutes. The value is betting the fight will not start the second round.

The Bet: Silva/Wright Won’t Start Round 2 -104 (FanDuel Sportsbook)

Dustin Poirier vs. Charles Oliveira

In one of the best fights of the year, Charles Oliveira will be defending his lightweight crown against Dustin Poirier. Oliveira won the vacant lightweight title by knocking out Michael Chandler in the second round after Khabib Nurmagomedov retired and vacated the title. It was a great fight but many believed Poirier should have been in the title fight, but he was busy beating Conor McGregor twice. Now, both will meet up tonight and, unfortunately, one has to lose. Dustin Poirier is 8-1-1 in his last 10 UFC fights, with his only loss coming to the aforementioned Nurmagomedov in a title fight. The run he has been on has been incredible, but outside of fighting Khabib, he has not really faced a high-level grappler. That will change tonight as Oliveira will test him greatly in that regard. If you go back and watch the tape of the Poirier vs. Anthony Pettis fight, Pettis is nowhere near the grappler Oliveira is, and he put Poirier in some tough spots on the mat before Pettis suffered a rib injury. If this fight hits the mat, Oliveira will have a massive advantage and has a very high chance of finishing the fight. On the feet, Poirier will have the striking advantage without question, but Oliveira is no slouch. Also, the notion that Oliveira has chin issues or quitting issues is far overblown at this point in his career. The one thing worth noting is Oliveira has never seen championship rounds, so whoever wins should win inside the distance. The advantage on the mat plus Poirier not really facing many high level grappler put Oliveira ITD +200 the bet.

The Bet: Charles Oliveira Inside The Distance +200 (DraftKings Sportsbook)
