D’Angelo Russell Under 7.5 Assists (-116, SugarHouse)

After three straight double-digit assist performances for Minnesota Timberwolves guard D’Angelo Russell, there might be some pause when it comes to fading him tonight. However, the NBA player props total of 7.5 assists is still one-half an assist more than the 7.0 Russell has averaged per game this season. The Wolves will also be matched up against a Memphis Grizzlies team that is much more sound than their previous three opponents. Russell is unlikely to exploit the Grizzlies in a similar fashion distributing the ball. OddsShopper also hints at the under being a worthwhile play as several sportsbooks have deviated to a line of 6.5 assists.

Awesemo’s projections officially peg Russell for exactly 6.89 assists tonight. This results in a win probability of 62% for the under on this wager. OddsShopper shows that the optimal -116 odds are up to 10 cents better than others in the market. At the preferred price, this prop bet for tonight has an ROI of 12%.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker Under 10.5 Points (+100, DraftKings)

Having fallen out of favor in the New Orleans Pelicans‘ rotation, it is virtually impossible to trust Nickeil Alexander-Walker to exceed any NBA player props totals at this stage. The 23-year-old has failed to even be on the floor for 20 minutes in three of the last four games. As a result, he has only scored in double figures once over that span. Despite this, OddsShopper shows several NBA betting sportsbooks are juiced to the over on his scoring prop of 10.5 points for tonight’s game. Even without Paul George, the opposing L.A. Clippers have managed to maintain a top-10 ranking in scoring defense on the season. While the prop line is well below Alexander-Walker’s scoring average of 13.7 points per game, his reduced role accounts for the adjustment.

Thanks to the availability of profitable +100 odds, Awesemo finds a great deal of value in betting under Alexander-Walker’s scoring total tonight. While an exact projection of 9.51 points does not offer the largest statistical edge in the world, the even-money price helps beef up the expected ROI to 15% for this under prediction.

Kessler Edwards Under 5.5 Rebounds (+110, PointsBet)

While it makes sense why NBA betting oddsmakers have inflated the rebounding total for Kessler Edwards tonight, it is also fair to question whether the line is now too high. Edwards has been bumped up the depth chart recently partly due to injuries and partly due to performance. However, despite playing 29 minutes last night, he only had one rebound. Edwards should certainly accomplish more than that on the glass tonight given that he has averaged 4.2 boards per game in limited playing time. That being said, Awesemo’s exact projection of 5.08 rebounds still falls short of the NBA player props total of 5.5.

With star forward Kevin Durant sitting out for rest purposes tonight, Edwards will presumably have increased opportunity on the boards. OddsShopper shows that the betting market echoes this sentiment. The over on Edwards’ rebounding prop is heavily juiced. This has resulted in a plus-money opportunity on the under for this prop bet tonight. Awesemo gives this prediction a healthy 61% expected ROI at the preferred +110 odds.
