Best PrizePicks NBA Props: Dennis Schroder Helping Lakers with Anthony Davis Out

With just a couple of days left until Christmas, the NBA schedule-makers have gifted fans by putting 14 games on tonight’s slate. To begin the night, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets will try to take down the East-leading Milwaukee Bucks. That game will be followed up by a meeting between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Wizards where Dennis Schroder will look to stay hot. Below bettors can check out some of the best NBA player props and bets to make for Friday, Dec. 23.

PrizePicks NBA Player Props | Dec. 23

Kyrie Irving Over 32.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

This season started off strange for Kyrie Irving in terms of his off-court antics. However, he returned from his suspension a few weeks back and has been balling as of late. He’s played in seven games this month and has averaged 40.6 points/rebounds/assists per game thus far. Irving had 33 or more points/rebounds/assists in six of those seven December games, and he recorded 32 or more points alone in four of them. He’s shooting 51.7% from the field and 36.4% from 3-point range this month while averaging nearly 21 field goal attempts per game.

Over his last five outings, Irving has a usage rate of 33.5%, which is nearly identical to his teammate Kevin Durant‘s usage rate in those games. Plus, he got the night off last game and Durant went wild. Now the Nets face the Bucks in what should be a thriller, so expect Irving to play his best basketball and to impact the game in multiple ways.

Dennis Schroder Over 11.5 Points

After Anthony Davis went down the other night, the Lakers had to look their roster up and down in search for another guy to provide some offense. Enter Dennis Schroder. He’s played in five outings without Davis this season and has averaged 19.8 points per game on 12.8 field goal attempts in 29.4 minutes. Over the Lakers’ last three games, Schroder has a usage rate of 27.6%, trailing only LeBron James and Russell Westbrook among players playing significant minutes. Simply put, this line is too low for Schroder’s current role on the offense.

Tonight he and the Lakers are set to face the Charlotte Hornets, who allow the fifth-most points per game to point guards this season. They’re also allowing the fifth-most points per game overall this year, and they’ve given up 121.3 per game over their last three, which is the third most over that span.

This play is listed at -125 on three different sportsbooks.
