Drafters differ from Underdog in the way they structure their Best Ball contest schedule. Only the regular season counts in Drafters, there are no fantasy playoffs. When you draft your team, their statistics over the course of the season will accumulate, and the roster with the highest number of fantasy points at the end of the regular season wins the tournament. Drafters’ format is the same for NFL, NBA and any other Best Ball sport they offer.

Underdog is significantly different. Your Underdog Best Ball team will compete in a bracket with a number of other teams for the first fifteen weeks of the season. There will then be “playoff” rounds, much like season-long fantasy playoffs where you whittle down the pool of contestants. The finale is Week 17, when the finalists are determined. The winning score in Week 17 takes down first place.

From a pick ’em perspective, Underdog and Drafters both offer solid platforms. Drafters is newer to pick ’em than Underdog but Drafters offers payouts up to 100x, which is in line with Sleeper in offering the highest payouts in DFS. Underdog’s payouts are capped at 20x, but the user experience at Underdog is far more user-friendly, and free squares are more common at Underdog, as well.
