What Is ParlayPlay?

You can also compete in free-to-play contests against other users. ParlayPlay curates a handful of picks and you make your choices from the options presented; winnings are divvied up among the top 50 scorers based on where they finished. What Is Hit It?

Hit It is another picks contest where users are presented a statistical range in which a player’s performance could land. You choose which range they will land in — e.g. Dak Prescott to throw for 0-200 yards, 201-243, 244-272, 273-301, 302-344 and 345+. Hit It games are not available for every game or sport, however, and they max out at two picks for a 6x payout. On the plus side, you can submit just one pick in Hit It, whereas in More/Less you have to enter at least two.

Design and Layout

This is the defining feature of ParlayPlay. From a gameplay standpoint, ParlayPlay is a typical pick’em-style operator; as such, they stand out by giving the app a fun design and making ease of access the top priority. In this regard, ParlayPlay succeeds and then some.

The first thing you notice about the ParlayPlay app is the bright yellow theme. There are really only three colors in the scheme: Yellow, white and gray, which makes it different from most other daily fantasy apps, which primarily have darker colors.

The second thing you notice is the font size. Everything is big, bold and easy to read, which may seem elementary but is actually surprisingly uncommon in fantasy and betting apps. Now, the tradeoff is that you have to scroll a bit through picks since only a couple fit on the screen at once. Perhaps some may prefer a sleeker layout with smaller entries and thus more options on the screen at once, but if nothing else, the larger style is a change of pace.

At the top of the home screen are the promotions ParlayPlay are currently offering, presented in slideshow format. Below that is a sliding bar with all the sports tabs ParlayPlay offers, and then games are presented below. At most you can see six games at once due to the larger font size, so some scrolling is required to view all the games.

Navigation

There are five tabs on the bottom of the home screen: Home, Pick’M, Free2Play, Rewards and Entries. Most of these are self-explanatory; Pick’M takes you to the paid pick’em contests, Free2Play houses free contests that anyone can enter, Rewards is where you can find your prizes and bonuses, and Entries shows \your active picks and entry history.

The home page has a scrolling tab bar with all the sports you can play, so if you want to browse by game/event, it’s as simple as clicking the sport, selecting the game from which you want to make picks and choosing your plays on the next screen. If you would rather search, however, click either the Pick’M banner below the sports tabs or the Pick’M tab at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to a page where you can again filter by sport or enter a player or team into the search bar.

From there, simply select a stat for a More/Less play, and once you have made at least two picks, click Continue at the bottom of the screen. This will bring up the More/Less page, where you will choose more or less for each particular player. Then scroll down to enter how much money you wish to play, whether you want to go Insured or All In, and then click Place to submit. Insured means you can get some of your money back with partially correct entries, but the reward for getting everything right is slightly less than if you go All In. All In will earn you the full payout by getting all picks correct, but one wrong pick equals a losing entry.

Overall, the navigability of ParlayPlay is sacrificed a little in favor of a larger, bolder design. The text and graphic sizes mean you need to scroll; that said, ParlayPlay compensates by generally offering a more limited player pool so you don’t need to scroll through everything in a given game.

ParlayPlay Options

ParlayPlay has two contest types: More/Less, which is like traditional pick’em, and Hit It, where users predict a statistical range where a player will land in a given game. More/Less is offered for all sports in the ParlayPlay app, whereas Hit It is generally reserved for featured games like Thursday Night Football. That said, here are the sports that offer at least one type of contest on ParlayPlay:
