Cade Horton H/L Than 4.5 Strikeouts
The Cubs’ right-hander has had a volatile rookie campaign thus far.
Two starts ago, he had his worst performance of the year, surrendering seven earned runs to the Houston Astros, then followed that up with a dominant seven-inning shutout performance against the Cleveland Guardians.
However, strikeouts haven’t been his forte, with an average of just 6.6 strikeouts per 9 innings, or roughly 4.2 per start.
The Minnesota Twins have been solid against right-handed pitchers, ranking 12th in strikeouts with a 21.2% K-rate. After a strong offensive showing against the Cubs yesterday, I expect the Twins’ momentum to carry over against the inexperienced righty tonight.
Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Prediction: Cade Horton Lower Than 4.5 Strikeouts
Dansby Swanson H/L Than 1.5 Bases
Let’s stick with a player from the Northside of Chicago and take an under on Dansby Swanson’s total bases prop.
He’ll be facing right-hander David Festa, whose underlying metrics show promise. Despite a 5.48 ERA, his xFIP is a solid 4.18, and over his last two starts, his xFIP has been 3.32 or lower in each outing.
Swanson has hit .247 against right-handed pitchers this season, compared to .275 against lefties. As a streaky hitter, I think we’ll see him on the wrong side of that pattern tonight.
