Best UFC Charlotte Bets & Odds: Bryan Battle-Gabe Green

Bryan Battle-Gabe Green Odds from FanDuel Sportsbook

Gabe Green: -138 | Bryan Battle: +112
Over 2.5: -180 | Under 2.5: +140

Gabe Green takes on Bryan Battle as a slight favorite. Green is now 2-2 in the UFC, having won two straight fights before losing a unanimous decision to Ian Garry in his last bout. Likewise, Battle saw a seven-fight winning streak snapped at the hands of Rinat Fakhretdinov last December. With both fighters looking to reassert themselves in the welterweight division, this has the looks of an exciting bout.

At first glance, Green looks like the more well-rounded fighter. He lands 6.20 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 6.92. Most of this negative differential came in his UFC debut against Daniel Rodriguez, where he was out-struck 175 to 127. Green also has some takedown ability, averaging 0.83 takedowns per bout and 50% accuracy.

These numbers are somewhat similar to Battle’s, as he lands 4.42 significant strikes per fight. Battle has a positive striking ratio and lands 0.79 takedowns per bout. The main difference could come down to Battle’s horrific takedown defense of just 38%. He was taken down seven times by Fakhretdinov and another two times by Tresean Gore in his UFC debut. His only fight without a takedown allowed came against striking expert Takashi Sato, and that fight ended in the first round.

Ultimately, Green’s well-rounded skillset and ability to land takedowns should be the difference in this fight. The takedowns also allow Green to put a stamp on rounds should this fight go the distance.

Best UFC Charlotte Bet: Gabe Green By Decision (+210, FanDuel)
