UFC Fight Night Odds: Song-Simon Set for Main Event After Delay (April 29)

Song Yadong and Ricky Simon knew that they would be doing battle in the octagon, but neither expected to be main eventing Saturday’s UFC Fight Night. Their fight was originally part of last week’s UFC card but was pushed back a week, making it this week’s main event. The UFC betting odds for Song-Simon haven’t changed much from last week, but there are still eleven other fights with opening UFC odds that were just released.

UFC Fight Night Odds: Song-Simon Set for Main Event After Delay

Caio Borralho (-300) vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk (+240)
Rodolfo Vieira (-275) vs. Cody Brundage (+220)
Julian Erosa (-185) vs. Fernando Padilla (+150)
Marcos Rogerio de Lima (-160) vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta (+130)
Martin Buday (-110) vs. Jake Collier (-110)
Natan Levy (-275) vs Pete Rodriguez (+225)
Cody Durden (+150) vs. Charles Johnson (-185)
Stephanie Egger (-300) vs. Irina Alekseeva (+240)
Josh Quinlan (+125) vs. Ange Loosa (-150)
Brian Kelleher (-175) vs. Journey Newson (+145)
Hailey Cowan (-115) vs. Jamey-Lyn Horth (-105)

The Song-Simon fight would have been one of the better matches on last week cards. However, the UFC decided to push back the fight one week and make it the highlight of this Saturday’s evening. The move comes on the heels of Renato Moicano’s injury. Moicano was originally slated to take on Arman Tsarukyan to cap off the evening.

Although fans will have to wait for a Moicano-Tsarukayan matchup for a later date, Song Yadong and Ricky Simon shouldn’t disappoint. The match remains about a pick em, with Simon getting the slight advantage as a -135 favorite over Yadong (+110). The new main event hasn’t had prop markets lined at any U.S. based sportsbooks,  but offshore accounts have the fight slightly favored to finish inside the distance. Fans are still waiting on UFC prop bet odds for TKOs and round finishes.

Simon has a 20-3 record and is coming off five straight wins. His last two victories were Round 2 finishes, the first by knockout over Raphael Assuncao which he followed up with a submission win over Jack Shore last July.

Song lost his last fight by doctor’s stoppage in Round 4 against Cory Sandhagen. Before that letdown he won three straight fights.

One advantage Song might have is that despite losing his last fight, he did prepare for a five round bout and it did make it to the 4th. Ricky Simon has not had a fight go more than three rounds– win or lose– since he won a five round decision over Chico Camus in December of 2017. Nevertheless, the UFC betting market is still favoring him over Song.

There are eleven other fights on this card, making it a full UFC fight night experience. OddsShopper will continue scouring the betting markets now that the opening UFC odds have been released.
