2023 WNBA MVP odds: Finally Time To Anoint Breanna Stewart?

It’s never too early to focus on the 2023 WNBA MVP odds. Sure, the start of the season isn’t until May 19, but why wait until then to talk quality players and fancy betting odds? Don’t answer that, you sicko. It’s rhetorical. Nevertheless, while plenty of eyes are on A’ja Wilson to snag the award yet again, Breanna Stewart appears to be the early front-runner.

The 2023 WNBA season is expected to be one of the most exciting and closely contested in recent years, with a number of talented players vying for the league’s top honors. Among the players expected to be in the running for the WNBA MVP award are Breanna Stewart and A’ja Wilson, two of the most dominant players in the league today.

Breanna Stewart, who will be trotting about hardwoods for the New York Liberty, is the favorite to win the award according to DraftKings, with odds of +250. The 28-year-old forward has been a consistent performer since joining the league in 2016, winning the Rookie of the Year award and leading the Seattle Storm to WNBA championships in 2018 and 2020.

A’ja Wilson, who plays for the insanely talented Las Vegas Aces, is not far behind Stewart in the MVP race, with odds of +280. The 26-year-old forward had a breakout season in 2020, winning both the WNBA MVP award and the WNBA Peak Performer award for leading the league in scoring.

She averaged 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, and helped lead the Aces to the WNBA Finals. It’s also worth noting she won the award last season, averaging 19.5 points per contest.

Both the Aces and Liberty brought in a truckload of talent over the course of the offseason, making it a weird deal where both players are obviously great, but production numbers might dip as talent around them might allow the superstars to decrease some of the number-tilted-burden.

Nonetheless, regardless of how you feel about DraftKings’ 2023 WNBA MVP odds, an exciting season is looming and great basketball is going to be injected in our veins like we’re a bunch of junkies… basketball junkies, of course.
