Latest Australian Open Odds List Novak Djokovic As Heavy favorite

Novak Djokovic entered the Australian Open nursing a hamstring injury and has worn a brace around his left leg throughout the tournament. He claims that he was not even thinking about competing in the Australian Open just a week ago because of the injury's severity. However, none of that seemed to bother "the Djoker" during a three-set slashing of Alex de Minaur (6-2, 6-1, 6-2) on Monday morning.

“The way my leg felt before tonight wasn’t giving me too many hopes, so to say, for the entire tournament, to go all the way through. Tonight I feel that, so I feel positive about it,” Djokovic said afterward, per the New York Post.

There have been some questions surrounding whether or not the 21-time Grand Slam champion is milking the injury or faking a bit. Regardless, he has set his sights on the remainder of the tournament.

“I am not really interested at this point what people are thinking and saying,” Djokovic said. “It is fun, it is interesting to see how the narrative surrounding me continues, [a] narrative that is different compared to other players that have been going through similar situations. But I am used to it, and it just gives me extra strength and motivation. So I thank them for that.”

Injury or not, there is no one left competing in the season's first Grand Slam in the same class as Novak Djokovic, and the latest Australian Open odds update reflects just that. Perhaps we'll see a massive upset before it's all said and done, but Djokovic is firmly in the driver's seat heading into the Quarterfinal Round.
