Europa League Betting Odds: Manchester United Now Favorites

Per DraftKings:

The win over Barcelona on Thursday did not come easy. The Reds gave Barca an early 1-0 lead thanks to a controversial penalty call in the first period. But they came out the gates hot in the second half. Contrary to the recent trends, striker Marcus Rashford did not tally a goal in their comeback effort. Rather, it was a Fred breakthrough, followed by an incredible strike by Antony to give Manchester United the lead and send the Old Trafford crowd into a frenzy.

“Antony is brave, fearless. Running behind, dribbles, and of course his goal. He is brave and he will go for it. I had no doubts," Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag said postgame, per Manchester United writer Fabrizio Romano.“Fred? His role was to stop Frenkie de Jong, he was like a ‘mosquito’ all over him — he did it”

The win now puts Manchester United into the last-16 in the Europa League, with their next matchup coming this Sunday against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup. The Red Devils are still in contention to win both the Premier League and Europa League but remain a heavy underdog behind Arsenal and Manchester City in the PL.

Regardless, the Red Devils have enjoyed an incredible turnaround in the first year under ten Hag, and certainly, they'll have a chance to cement it with some hardware later in the year.
