Premier League Champion Odds: Manchester City Favored Over Arsenal After Beating Chelsea

Is the Premier League still Manchester City’s to lose? Although Arsenal stays atop the league’s table amid their Cinderella season, the Sky Blues have been coming on strong in recent games during their quest to win back-to-back Premier League trophies. After beating Chelsea 1-0 on Thursday, Manchester City’s betting odds to win the Premier League shifted.

Manchester City Premier League Odds

Per DraftKings, Manchester City is now a -175 favorite over Arsenal (+170) to win the Premier League. After failing to tally a goal, Chelsea moved to +60000. Manchester United also has caught a hot streak under the leadership of first-year manager Erik ten Hag and is +2200 to win the trophy.

Boasting a potent scoring attack around elite striker Erling Haaland, it took Man City until the 63rd minute — when substitutes Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez teamed on a nifty passing play — to open the scoring.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking on his team’s pursuit of more hardware, claimed his players were operating under more pressure than their competitors.

“The advantage of Arsenal and Manchester United right now is nobody has to win the Premier League for 20 points ahead in November like Man City has to, and this is sometimes a big problem,” Guardiola said after a 1-1 draw against Newcastle over the weekend, per EuroSport.

“People say, ‘Ah, yes, but you are [City] …’ But with Arsenal winning all their games and you are eight points behind, it can happen (City not winning the title).”

Although it didn’t come easily, Manchester City got back to its winning ways but still has work to do in order to catch Arsenal and achieve its expectation of winning the Premier League. The Blues are now within five points of Arsenal, with their next PL match against Manchester United on Jan. 14.
