2023 Australian Open Odds, Iga Swiatek Injury Update

Swiatek is the consensus favorite in the 2023 Australian Open Odds, as low as +200 at Caesars Sportsbook up to +240 at BetMGM.

She is -1100 to defeat Neimer (+650, DraftKings).

Following a straight set loss to Jessica Pegula at the United Cup on Jan. 6, Swiatek did not play in the Adelaide International, citing a right shoulder issue. She said she has been able to prepare for the Australian Open.

"I had pretty solid practices, so I'm happy to be here and I'm happy that I have a long time to get the conditions and get the feeling of these courts," Swiatek told Tennis World.

Pegula is the third betting choice to win the tournament, which would be her first Grand Slam title, with odds as low as +800 (PointsBet), slightly behind Aryna Sabalenka (+650).

The past two champions, Ashleigh Barty (2022) and Naomi Osaka (2021), are not in the tournament. Sofia Kenin, the 2020 champion, is +13000 (DraftKings).

Swiatek defeated Neimer in the fourth round on her way to winning the U.S. Open last year. The 21-year-old is trying to win her fourth Grand Slam and has been No. 1 in the world for 42 consecutive weeks, the fourth longest run in the first time at the top in history.

"This is the first Grand Slam of the season, which makes it a little bit easier in terms of physicality because we should be more fresh," Swiatek said. "I always felt like I'm more ready for these longer matches and I can really push myself even harder."
