UFC 285 Odds: Ciryl Gane-Jon Jones Headline Highly Anticipated Pay-Per-View

The UFC returns to Las Vegas this Saturday with another stellar card on tap. Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski put on a show at the UFC 284 pay-per-view two weeks ago in Australia. UFC 285 hopes to top that with a main event featuring Ciryl Gane vs. Jon Jones. In addition to those star headliners there are twelve other matchups on the card. Let’s take a look at the opening UFC odds and bets for this Saturday.

Jon Jones (-155) enters the fight with a 26-1 record in the UFC. He has not lost a fight since a first round disqualification against Matt Hamill in December of 2009. Jones has won seventeen fights since the DQ, as well as one draw against Daniel Cormier in 2017. The 35-year old Jones is widely considered one of the top heavyweights of all time.

Gane (+135) is the underdog despite an impressive pedigree of his own. He is 11-1 in the UFC, with his only loss coming to former champion Francis Ngannou in January of 2022. Although that match was competitive, Gane eventually lost by a unanimous decision after a five-round main event. Ngannou has since left the UFC, leaving Gane and Jones as two of the most elite stars in the heavyweight division.

All eyes will be on the Ciryl Gane-Jon Jones main event. Most prop bets have not been released, but FanDuel has opened the odds for this fight to go to decision at -134, with +104 for it to end inside the distance.

Gane is already an established name in the UFC, although some have questioned his motivation this week after reports came out that he has been lazy training for past fights. Gane’s camp quickly dispelled these rumors, and it’s unclear if they will impact public UFC bets heading into the matchup.

Saturday’s card has twelve other fights in addition to the main event. Valentina Shevchenko (-600) will take on Alexa Grasso (+450) in a women’s five round co-main event. Shevchenko is a heavy favorite to retain her Women’s Flyweight Division title. She has held the belt since defeating Joanna Jedrzejeczyk in 2018. Her reign includes nine straight victories. Shevchenko’s last loss was to Amanda Nunes in 2017.

The main card is rounded Geoff Neal (+400) vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov (-500), Jalin Turner (+145) vs. Mateusz Gamrot (-170) and Bo Nickal (-1400) vs. Jamie Pickett (+850).  Only the Turner-Gamrot fight is expected to be close given the opening UFC odds.

However, the preliminary card is expected to have closer action, including Derek Brunson (+200) vs. Dricus Du Plessis (-240), Amanda Ribas (-130) vs. Vivian Araujo (+110) and Julian Marquez (+105) vs. Marc-Andre Barriault (-125).
