UFC 287 Odds: Alex Pereira-Israel Adesanya Rivalry Continues in Title Re-Match (April 8)

The UFC Middleweight title is on the line in the Main Event of UFC 287 this Saturday in Miami. That title bout features one of the longest standing rivalries in MMA between Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya. The duo has fought three times, once in the UFC and twice in kickboxing promotions, with Pereira coming out on top in all three. However, Adesanya is the favorite to win the 4th matchup this Saturday. Let’s dive into the UFC odds for this 13-fight pay-per-view card, highlighted by Pereira-Adesanya 2.

Gilbert Burns (-500) vs. Jorge Masvidal (+360)
Rob Font (+150) vs. Adrian Yanez (-185)
Kevin Holland (-275) vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio (+210)

Sam Hughes (+200) vs. Jaqueline Amorim (-250)
Chase Sherman vs. Karl Williams (Not Lined Yet)
Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Trey Ogden (Not Lined Yet)

Alex Pereira may be a small underdog to retain his title versus Israel Adesanya, but he has no shortage of experience and positive track record against his rival. The two first met in China for a kickboxing bout. The match was won by Pereira although Adesanya protested the decision vehemently, claiming to MMA News that “I f—– this guy up in the first fight. Not crazy, but the judges gave it to him.”

Pereira-Adesanya met once again in 2017, with Alex Pereira taking the victory. Both eventually went on to join the UFC, meeting for the title on November 12 of 2022. That battle was won by Pereira in a 5th round KO. Israel Adesanya will now look to take the Middleweight title back from Pereira and finally win a fight over his rival. He is a -145 favorite to do so at BetMGM.

The UFC 287 main card also features a welterweight fight between Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal. Bettors are expecting a lopsided match with Burns favored at -500. Nevertheless, Masvidal is a popular name in the UFC who could get steam as the card approaches. The rest of the main card on the pay-per-view includes Rob Font (+150) vs. Adrian Yanez (-185), Kevin Holland (-275) vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio (+210) and Raul Rosas Jr. (-250) vs. Christian Rodriguez (+200).
