Best NBA Side Bet: Hawks-Heat

Wednesday we rode the Raptors over the Heat, Thursday was the Bulls over the Raptors, now it’s the Heat over the Hawks. So much of the day-to-day betting in NBA sides comes down to schedule and circumstance, more so than just matchup. The Heat were sluggish at best against Toronto and hit the floor for the first time since losing by 24 points. To say there’s expected positive regression is an understatement. Miami gets Kevin Love back, and Duncan Robinson is trending towards playing through an ankle injury, leaving Jaime Jaquez Jr. as the lone impact player not on the floor.

Atlanta isn’t anything special this year and just saw Trae Young ruled out with an injury. While targeting backups may work with player props, it’s not going to lift the mediocre Hawks above this Heat team — not tonight. Miami is going to take out every ounce of frustration from its prior loss, and not having Young on the floor only makes it worse for Atlanta.

The Heat suffered a rare loss against teams heading to the playoffs versus beating down on other teams. Atlanta is now 10-30 against the spread this year; take the Heat.

Best NBA Side Bet: Miami Heat -6.5 (-110 BetMGM)

If you’re looking for some player prop action on this Nets-Lakers game, OddsShopper’s betting model found a key pricing disparity. Pinnacle (not shown), a sharp book, has LeBron James under 7.5 assists at -110, while BetRivers, Unibet and SugarHouse odds are far better at +116 and comfortably ahead of OddsShopper’s True Odds of +103. Best NBA Total Bet: Nets-Lakers O/U 227

The Brooklyn Nets are lost. Trying to avoid a fifth straight loss, the Nets take on a Lakers team heating up, especially on defense. Los Angeles comes off two tough wins against two solid opponents in Minnesota and Dallas. Meanwhile, the Nets can’t figure anything out, including scoring, as they are 7-11-1 to the under on the road, 2-7 over their last nine. Here’s a rhetorical question: What about the Brooklyn Nets‘ current struggles screams they will break out against a Lakers team fueled by their defense? Right. Nothing.

L.A. is 7-14 to the under at home and is riding a nice under trend over the past week. Playing at home against a sliding Nets team is a massive benefit, as opposed to players resting for a game in Brooklyn. The Nets have won just one of their last 10 games, and the Lakers win mostly by playing defense. We are under here.

Best NBA Total Bet: Under 227 (-110 BetMGM)
