Luka Doncic Player Prop: Best Bulls-Mavericks Bet Today
Let me at least try to convince you to fade Luka Doncic tonight before you exit. The current MVP favorite stuffs the stat sheet; there’s no debate. But we’re targeting his rebounds in what should be a slower-paced game. The Bulls rank in the bottom 5 of the NBA in pace of play while having one of the worst offensive ratings in basketball.
Doncic sees fewer rebounding chances than you’d think. While ranking in the top 10 in rebounds per game, Doncic has by far the fewest rebounding opportunities per game from that group. In comparison, Doncic averages slightly more rebounds than New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle, but Randle, who plays two fewer minutes than Doncic, sees close to three more rebounding chances per game. It helps when big men Grant Williams and Derek Lively steal those rebounds.
Looking at games played without Irving last season, Doncic stayed under 10.5 rebounds in 70% of the games. Even though Doncic is expected to play upwards of 35 minutes, I like him to stay under this prop, especially with the price FanDuel is giving out.
