Fairleigh Dickinson Bets: Bettors Cash Insane Profit on March Madness Stunner

The sports world is still marveling at the amazing feat the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights were able to pull off in March Madness on Friday night. The No. 16 seed faced the tall task of going up against a Purdue Boilermakers team featuring the likely Wooden Award winner, Zach Edey. Not only were the Knights able to pull off the wild upset, but some Farleigh Dickinson bets show bettors were able to make some crazy profit on the moneyline.

Top Fairleigh Dickinson Bets: Who Cashed the Most?

Per Action Network’s Darren Rovell, one DraftKings Sportsbook bettor placed a $33,000 bet on Fairleigh Dickinson moneyline (+1500). The bet paid out $495,000. Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy also went in on Fairleigh Dickinson, placing $4,000 on Fairleigh Dickinson ML (+1400). He cashed for $60,000. The top known FDU ML bettor at Caesars Sportsbook had $500 on the Knights, cashing for $10,000.

One person who was not surprised about the upset win was Fairleigh Dickinson head coach Tobin Anderson. Before the game, a viral locker room video hit the web, where Anderson called his shot.

“The more I watch Purdue, the more I think we can beat them,” Anderson told his team after notching a “First Four” win over Texas Southern on Wednesday.

Fairleigh Dickinson showed its scoring prowess in the 84-61 win over Texas Southern on Wednesday, but it was the defense that shined in the upset over Purdue. The Knights allowed Edey to go for 21 points and 15 rebounds, but no other Purdue player scored over 15, proving Anderson’s game plan came to fruition.

“I just trust our guys, I have faith in our guys … We just have faith in what we do. Our guys are so tough and so competitive. I’ll do a better job in this locker room speech than the last one … It was the right message, it made the wrong audience. But listen: I love our guys. They’re tough, they’re gritty, they play their tails off,” Anderson said after the game per USA Today.

Fairleigh Dickinson will now face off against FAU in the Round of 32 on Sunday with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line. They open as a 13.5-point underdog (on DraftKings Sportsbook). But it is safe to say they have all the confidence in pulling off another upset in their Cinderella run.
