Georgia vs. South Carolina Odds & Prediction: Bet the Over in this Week 3 SEC Battle (September 17)

If there is one thing any college football fan knows, it’s that SEC teams are in a league of their own (literally and figuratively).

This is year is no exception. In fact, the SEC might even be the strongest it has been in a few years. Every week in the conference is absolute war.

This week the Georgia Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks square off in a big early season matchup. Georgia enters the weekend as the top-ranked team in the country and South Carolina is coming off of a tough loss against Arkansas.

Georgia will look to continue their path towards repeating as National Champions.

Georgia vs. South Carolina Week 3 Picks

Foot on the Gas

Through the first two weeks, it doesn’t look like anyone is going to touch the Georgia Bulldogs. They have a defense that looks like it may go down as one of the best in the history of the sport and their offense is firing on all cylinders.

The Bulldogs are stacked with playmakers that make offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s job look easy.

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett hasn’t been given the credit that he has deserved throughout his career. The Senior looks like he could be a Heisman contender come December. Running backs Kenny McIntosh and Kendall Milton will be two players to watch in this game. Milton comes in as the team’s leading rusher and McIntosh has shown versatility as a pass catcher, as well. Georgia might have the deepest tight end room in the country. Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington are both matchup nightmares that should find success getting open in this game.

Georgia’s defense has already forced 3 turnovers. The unit will be looking to continue their dominance after a shutout against Samford last weekend.

Gamecocks Reloaded for 2022

The thought in Columbia is that the football program is heading in the right direction for South Carolina.

Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler has come in to be the team’s new signal caller, adding a new brand of leadership to this team. Rattler lost his starting job last year with the Oklahoma Sooners, but he is a dynamic athlete who can make plays. The graduate transfer fits well in head coach Shane Beamer’s offensive system.

The Gamecock’s defense showed promise in their opening weekend win against Georgia State but had their work cut out for them last week in a loss to Arkansas.

It is critical for South Carolina to put together a solid game plan against Georgia. They are going to have to slow down the run early and force Georgia to pass.

Every SEC team has their fair share of athletes, and the Gamecocks need to play their best brand of football come Saturday.

Georgia Looks to Keep Winning

While South Carolina has a lot of exciting new pieces in their program it will be hard to hang with Georgia for a full 4 quarters.

The Bulldogs are currently 25-point favorites in this contest, with a game total set at 55 points. While South Carolina should cover this large spread, both offenses look primed to go over the 55-point total by the final whistle.

This should be a very interesting game for both teams. It is going to be fun to watch Georgia go to work and try to run back a National Championship this year.
