Best Michigan-Ohio State Player Props

J.J. McCarthy: OVER 199.5 Yards Passing

The Michigan Wolverines have been one of the best rushing teams all year in college football. In their win over Illinois last weekend, injuries really started to plague this team and the status of running backs Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards are in limbo. If either end up going, they will still not be 100% and the focus will shift towards Michigan’s passing game. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy will have to step up on Saturday as the Wolverines will look to be successful through the air. McCarthy is an athletic quarterback but proved he can be dynamic through the air in the Wolverines’ comeback win against Illinois last Saturday. Not only did McCarthy make some big throws, but he was also smart with the football when they couldn’t afford any turnovers late in the game. This will without a doubt be Ohio State’s hardest test so far. The Buckeyes have a great passing defense, ranking ninth in the FBS in opponent pass yards per game. With not having their running game at full strength, look for McCarthy to have a big day through the air as over 199.5 yards passing is a good bet for this weekend.

C.J. Stroud: UNDER 281.5 Yards Passing

On Saturday afternoon, the Ohio State Buckeyes will take the field and the likely Heisman front runner will be behind center. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has had a phenomenal season and will look to continue this in the biggest game of the year and a playoff ticket opportunity. As Stroud has lit opposing defenses up so far this year, he will have his work cut out for him against this Michigan defense. The Wolverines rank fourth in the FBS in opponent pass yards per game and rank first overall in total defense. This is an elite Ohio State team with weapons across the board. While the Buckeyes will still find success on offense throughout the game, this won’t be a game where Stroud can just embarrass an opposing defense through the air. Under 281.5 yards passing is a good prop for this weekend as the Buckeyes look to step up to the challenge.

Cade Stover: OVER 26.5 Receiving Yards

With Ohio State having a major challenge ahead of them on Saturday against this Michigan defense, they still have a very talented offense that is fun to watch each week. The Buckeyes have one of the best and deepest receiving corps in the country and Michigan will still have to play their best football with how good their defense is. With the Ohio State receivers likely getting most of the attention against the Michigan secondary, look for Ohio State to get their tight ends involved a lot in this game. Cade Stover has had a solid season for the Buckeyes so far. The senior tight end has hauled in 386 yards receiving and five touchdowns as well. Look for Stover to be a solid prop pick as over 26.5 yards receiving is a good bet for Saturday. There is no doubt that Michigan has a great defense, but even with their talent, Ohio State has enough options on the offensive side of the ball to keep the Wolverines on their heels for four quarters.
