Detroit Lions Finally Favored to Win an NFL Football Game: Dan Campbell Reacts to Betting Line Against Commanders

At long last, the Detroit Lions are favored to win a football game.

After being underdogs in 24 straight games going into this week, the Lions will go into their home game against the Washington Commanders as a slight favorite.

Check out the lines for the game below.

Commanders-Lions Betting Lines

Per DraftKings, the Lions are currently a -1.5 favorite on the spread and -130 on the money line. When speaking on his team’s status as a favorite for the first time in his tenure as head coach, Dan Campbell downplayed the situation.

“All that doesn’t matter, it just doesn’t,” he said before adding that the Lions have to play a better brand of football if they want any chance of winning on Sunday.

Last week, the Lions played hard and fought back against the Philadelphia Eagles but ended up losing 38-35 on home turf in that game.

“We struggled with their quarterback,” Campbell said after the game via USA Today. “Hurts hurt us. So, he’s a good player, but we got to be able to respond to those things.”

During the Week 1 game against the Lions, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for 243 yards and added 90 yards on the ground, proving that Campbell’s defense has much more work to do if they want to be taken seriously going forward.

Luckily for them, they’ll have an easier time keeping Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz in the pocket this weekend, being as he doesn’t pose quite the same threat on the ground as Hurts.

After putting on a show for fans during HBO’s Hard Knocks before the season, Campbell’s Lions have transformed into a fan favorite to start the season. And they’ll have a golden opportunity to get their first win this Sunday.
