The Safe Play: Kansas City Chiefs
There is not a ton of mystery here. The Chiefs are double-digit favorites at home against the Raiders, and while divisional matchups can get weird, Kansas City is still the safest path to survival.
Rashee Rice has returned to the offense, giving Patrick Mahomes another reliable weapon, and that makes this team even tougher to fade. If you’re in a smaller NFL Survivor pool Week 7, taking the Chiefs makes sense; just move on and live to fight another week.
But if you’re in a larger pool, you might want to save them. Kansas City has more soft spots later in the season, and burning them now could hurt you when the options start drying up.
The Risky Play: Cleveland Browns
This one is not for the faint of heart. Cleveland sits at 1-5, but they’re still a 2.5-point home favorite this week, which keeps them squarely in the Survivor Week 7 conversation.
Backing the Browns never feels good, and that’s exactly why it can pay off. Getting rid of them in the middle of the season can give you major flexibility later. If you’re in a gigantic pool where differentiation matters, this is the type of high-risk, high-reward play that can set you apart.
The matchup helps too. Miami has yet to win on the road this year, and Tua Tagovailoa will face one of the league’s most aggressive defensive fronts. Cleveland’s defensive line can wreck games on its own, and in a week without many strong under-the-radar options, they make a contrarian case.
