Zach Wilson Fantasy Football Ranking & Analysis Following News He’s Expected to Start For Jets Week 4

New York Jets fans will be happy to hear the latest news surrounding young quarterback Zach Wilson.

Through the first three weeks of the season, the team turned to veteran backup Joe Flacco under center. And while the former Super Bowl MVP looked serviceable, at times, it was clear following a Week 3 blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that the team needed a spark.

And who better to provide said speak than their young, dual-threat quarterback?

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Wilson is expected to be under center for the Jets for their Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, barring any set back.

Zach Wilson Week 4 Fantasy Football Ranking

Given the injury news regarding Wilson, many fantasy football owners (especially those who had Dak Prescott or Trey Lance as their starters) are wondering if he’s worth a pickup on the waiver wire.

Per Stokastic’s NFL Start/Sit Fantasy Football Rankings, Wilson is currently ranked pretty low on the list, as the #30 overall quarterback option for Week 4.

Last year, Wilson struggled mightily in his rookie season. He completed just 55.6% of his passes, throwing for nine touchdowns to go along with 11 interceptions.

However, he was able to showcase some of his running ability that had NFL scouts chomping at the bit during his time at BYU. He ran 29 times for 189 yards and added four touchdowns on the ground during his rookie season.

This year, the Jets have added the likes of Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall to their offense to try to make life easier on their young quarterback.

“A lot of his issues were maybe trying to see too much,” Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said of Wilson’s rookie season. “The biggest focus was getting your eyes in the right spot at the right time, and that is a focus that we’re gonna continue these last OTAs obviously, and then throughout training camp to make sure we are so ready to roll in September.”

It’s still best for fantasy football owners to hold off before giving Wilson a shot. But there is reason to believe we’ll see a jump out of the quarterback in his second year in the NFL, and it sure sounds like he’ll have his first shot at redemption this Sunday.
