Best Phillies-Braves Bet: Bryson Stott Swipes Charlie Morton May 27)

Game 3 of a four games series begins at 4:10 E.T. as the Atlanta Braves host the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves continue to be one of the storied teams in baseball while the Phillies are floating below .500. The pitching has been the problem for Philadelphia. In contrast, the hitting, especially against right-handed pitching, has been spectacular. Luckily, we have a player prop bet on the Phillies side that has cashed in nine of his last 11 games. Our top Phillies-Braves bet features a hot-hitting Bryson Stott.

Best Phillies-Braves Bet: Bryson Stott O/U 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

Bryson Stott has cemented himself as a stable at the top of the order in the Phillies lineup. While all expectations were on Trea Turner to begin the season, expectations that he hasn’t lived up to, Stott has carried this offense. The 25-year-old is hitting .294, and more importantly, .400 in the last seven games. He’ll be opposed by a familiar foe come Saturday – Charlie Morton. Let’s dive into Morton and his metrics below.

Morton is one of the few pitchers Stott has seen on more than one occasion. Stott has 11 career at-bats against Morton with him registering a hit in two plate appearances. With this prop, you have to analyze featured hitters around Stott in the order. If Stott finds himself on base. Turner or Bryce Harper will look to hit him in. While Turner hasn’t been great against Morton, Harper is hitting .417 off the veteran with seven runs batted in. Morton faced off against the Phillies six times last season including in the playoffs. With the new MLB scheduling format in place this season, teams won’t play against division rivals as many times.

Morton’s xERA is upwards of 4.70, a career-high since 2015. He’s fresh off giving up a season-high six earned runs against the loaded Los Angeles Dodgers offense. The good news for us is that the Phillies have the top offense against right-handed pitching in terms of batting average and are second in on-base percentage this season.

Stott has cashed in on this bet in nine of his last 10 games and stole three bases last night. Look for the savvy leadoff hitter to get things going for the Phillies offense early.
