Best Braves-Dodgers Odds, Pick & Prediction

First Pitch: 10:10 p.m. ET
Venue: Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles)
Probable Pitchers: Spencer Strider (ATL – RHP) at Lance Lynn (LAD – RHP)

Two of the best teams in baseball square off in LA tonight, and we’re treated to quite the pitching matchup to make matters even better.

For Thursday night’s game, the Dodgers find themselves in a rare position they’re not accustomed to: as underdogs (+120 to +125 range) in the MLB betting lines. That’s because they’ll be going toe-to-toe with ace Spencer Strider, who comes in with a 15-4 record and 3.46 ERA, along with a league-leading 236 strikeouts on the year. Current MLB odds have Atlanta available at roughly -145 to win, per OddsShopper’s useful tool, which compares lines from all major sportsbooks so you can lock in the best value. The total is trading at 8.5 runs at most operators.

The Dodgers will turn to veteran Lance Lynn, who will be making his sixth start for his new team after being acquired midseason from the White Sox. He’s managed to get his overall season ERA down from 6.32 to 5.56 in the fresh start, with a stellar 2.03 ERA and 27-to-6 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 31 innings for L.A.. Dave Roberts’ crew has won each game he’s started thus far.

With little edge apparent when scouring through the OddsShopper MLB tool for this light MLB slate of games, taking it easy with your bankroll is recommended unless you feel strongly about something.

For Thursday night, OddsShopper sees the most value in a sprinkle on a longshot home run prop for Dodgers LHB David Peralta. Currently, the True Odds at OddsShopper are +777 for him to homer, and that’s a far worse number than what you can get at FanDuel, which has this prop available at +870 for now. OddsShopper is listing an 11% EV and OS Rating of 4 for the pick.

As a reminder, it’s imperative to exercise proper bankroll management for those serious about profiting in sports betting, which is what makes OddsShopper’s recommended bet sizes based on customizable bankrolls extremely useful. For tonight, the suggested wager amount with a $1,000 starting bankroll would be $5 on this home run prop.

It’s not the most comfortable feeling fading Strider and company in most situations, but with this being OddsShopper’s highest-EV offering on the board on this small MLB slate, we can feel safer in dabbling responsibly on Peralta to hit one out Thursday night.
