Best Bulls-Raptors Player Prop: Big Night for Fred VanVleet? (February 28)

The Chicago Bulls head to Canada for a matchup with the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday. They’ll then head back south of the border for a date with the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. But even with Chicago’s hectic upcoming schedule, bettors digging for high-value NBA Bulls-Raptors player props should short one of Toronto’s offensive contributors at DraftKings. The book has left a bit too much value on the Fred VanVleet player prop markets for Tuesday. Make sure to check out OddsShopper’s tools for other sharp plays.

Best Bulls-Raptors NBA Player Prop | Fred VanVleet

Fred VanVleet Prop O/U 19.5 Points

The Chicago Bulls may not do much well, but they can shut down opposing backcourts. They were already allowing the fifth-fewest points per game to point guards this year (22.5). But now, with aggressive defenders in Patrick Beverley and Alex Caruso both in the starting lineup, Chicago’s defense can drop that number further. The Bulls lead the NBA in defensive rating over the last two games (89.4), the only ones that Caruso and Beverley have played together, and rank 29th in pace (93.5).

Chicago’s last two opponents, Brooklyn and Washington, saw their starting guards stifled. Spencer Dinwiddie scored only two points for the Nets after shooting 0-for-6 from the field. Bradley Beal recorded only 18 points, well below his season average (22.7), in a whopping 37 minutes of playtime with Kristaps Porzingis out. He shot 7-for-17 from the field.

Fred VanVleet is the next guard up for Chicago. Like Dinwiddie, he should play the point in a lineup without another true guard — especially if Nick Nurse decides to slide Gary Trent Jr. back to the bench with Toronto’s starters finally all healthy. Although VanVleet has tallied 57 points in two games against the Bulls so far, both contests came in November. He drew Ayo Dosunmu as his primary defender and played without Pascal Siakam. However, VanVleet totaled only 55 points in three games against the Bulls last year and beat this number only once.

VanVleet is averaging 19.7 points per game, so he need only have a slightly below-average showing to cash the under. Chicago’s stingy defense and slow pace will make his life difficult, especially in a game with significant consequences for the play-in tournament race. Bettors can head to DraftKings Sportsbook to buy the under at -110, the best price on the market. Readers yet to register at DraftKings can score $150 in bonus bets after winning a $5 moneyline wager!
