The Siakam that was carrying the Pacers early in the playoffs has left. In his stead is the Siakam we know best, one who can score 30, 12 or anything in between — and there’s no way to know what version is going to show up. Check out the game logs since his last 30-point game for proof: Seven games of less than 20, three of 20-plus and none over 30. All told, Siakam has just two overs on 22.5 since Game 2 of the Milwaukee series, which is a 10-game run.
So why is his line at 22.5, and why is the under only -115 instead of heavily juiced? Well, presumably the public is liking him because it’s a Game 7 and Siakam is a real-life NBA champion with big-game experience. Was he great in that 2019 Raptors Finals run? Kind of, yeah. That was five years ago, though, and this is his longest playoff run since then.
It helps Siakam’s scoring prospects that Tyrese Haliburton has floated in and out of games this series, going for 15 and 13 the last two. But what has worked for Indiana is getting double-digit scoring games from a bunch of different players: T.J. McConnell, Obi Toppin, Andrew Nembhard, Myles Turner, even Isaiah Jackson. Concentrated buckets have not been the answer in the Pacers wins.
As such, OddsShopper gives Siakam a 55% chance of scoring 22 or less in Game 7, which is leading to True Odds of -123.
