Desmond Bane Can’t do it All Himself (March 5)

The Memphis Grizzlies were a team on the rise behind Ja Morant. They reached the Western Conference semifinals and have been at the top of the standings this entire season. However, their hopes may be put on hold after the organization announced that Morant would be out for at least two games after he was spotted holding a gun at a nightclub. His absence will hurt the team, but Desmond Bane filled in nicely for the Grizzlies without Morant last year. Could Bane do it again? Sportsbooks may be overestimating his chances, and OddsShopper’s betting tool for Desmond Bane‘s NBA player prop.

Best Grizzlies-Heat Player Prop| Desmond Bane

Desmond Bane O/U 34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

When Ja Morant went down with a knee injury in last year’s Western Conference semifinals, NBA bettors and fans assumed the Grizzlies wouldn’t keep up with the Golden State Warriors. That wasn’t the case, in large part because of Desmond Bane.

The Grizzlies dropped their first game on the road to Golden State without Morant, but blew them out 134-95 in Game 5 of the series. Bane had 21 points on 4-6 shooting from behind the three point line. Much of that work came in the first half, as he went on to log just 24 minutes, resting in the final period.

If the Grizzlies have success tonight it will likely go through Bane. They head to Los Angeles to take on a Clippers team stacked with veteran leadership. Kawhi Leonard appears to be back in shape and Paul George is also rounding into form. The Clippers also acquired veteran big man Mason Plumlee at the trade deadline who has been giving them another rebounding presence down low.

This all poses a challenge to Bane, although he will certainly have the ball in his hands more than any other Memphis player with Ja out.

Despite the success that Bane has without Morant on the court, there is still value in this line across the NBA prop betting market. He can put up stats in every category, but Caesars Sportsbook is offering Bane under 34.5 points, rebounds and assists at -108. That’s just too cheap. If you look across the market, you won’t find a better price for a player that is hovering right around the 34.5 projection.
