Myles Turner Split Points to Treasure Trove of Value (March 9 Player Prop)

Things didn’t go as planned for Myles Turner against the 76ers. Indiana’s star center played only 17 minutes after getting into early foul trouble against Joel Embiid on Monday. However, he’s had plenty of time to think about his mistakes, and Turner’s splits with extra days off point to a sneaky sharp bet. Bettors looking for a strong NBA player prop for Thursday’s Rockets-Pacers game should tail the prediction below — DraftKings has left too much value on the Myles Turner player prop markets. Best Rockets-Pacers NBA Player Prop | Myles Turner

Myles Turner O/U 1.5 3-Pointers

Surprisingly, the Indiana Pacers are in the play-in race. They sit only 2.5 games behind the Washington Wizards for the tenth seed. Although their relatively limited roster certainly can’t make a championship push, a play-in spot at this point in their rebuild would be a meaningful step forward. Monday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers was a step backward, but Thursday’s game with the tanking Houston Rockets provides a solid chance for them to right the ship.

The Pacers were without their star center, Myles Turner, for most of Monday’s loss — but the silver lining is that he is great with extra rest. Turner played only 17 minutes due to foul trouble and racked up 10 points and no rebounds. But Turner has had two days off to think about the loss, and he has been exceptional with more than a day of rest. Turner is averaging 2.2 3-pointers per game with two or more days off, far more than his season average of 1.6.

The Houston Rockets are a fantastic matchup for Turner. The Rockets have allowed the most above-the-break 3-pointers per game (11.3) on the year. Through the last seven contests, they have allowed even more above-the-break 3-pointers per game (13.1). Turner attempts the third-most above-the-break 3’s for Indiana per game (3.7). Further, opposing centers have accounted for plenty of the 3-pointers made against Houston. San Antonio’s Zach Collins shot 2-for-4 from beyond the arc last Saturday. Denver’s Thomas Bryant shot 2-for-5 from beyond the arc last Tuesday as well.

The books have set the total for this one correctly (1.5) but don’t have the juice stacked in the right direction. You can still buy the over all the way up at +105 via DraftKings Sportsbook. Turner has been too good with extra rest — and Houston has been too terrible from beyond the arc — for this NBA player prop to sit in the plus money.
