Underdog Fantasy NBA Pick’em Predictions Today: LeBron James Leaking? (April 3)

We fell victim to Doc Rivers’ continued mismanagement of the Milwaukee Bucks roster, resulting in a 1-1 split. There are nine more games with heavy playoff implications to target for our Underdog card. Some of the later action is highlighted by the Pelicans hosting the Magic and the Cavs in Phoenix. Plenty of teams are still fighting to improve their positioning so we take this final stretch into account. Let’s look at the top NBA plays tonight on Underdog, including an interesting LeBron James tidbit!

Kyle Kuzma H/L Than 7.5 Rebounds

The Wizards come off a rare win as they knocked off the Bucks last night, their reward is hosting a desperate Lakers team. Kyle Kuzma missed last night’s game as he continues to battle a heel injury – something we are essentially betting on being just good enough to play tonight, but still limiting his numbers on the glass. The Lakers know all about Kuzma and will look to take advantage of his ailing status – he just overcame a shoulder injury before the heel issue.

LA owns a 1.5 game lead over the Warriors in the 10 spot and trails both the Kings and Suns by the same margin. As of now, neither LeBron James nor Anthony Davis are listed on the injury report. It’s safe to say the Wizards should expect some letdown after their big win, and the Lakers are far more desperate than the Bucks. Kuzma is playing hurt against a tough Lakers squad, not easy to grab 8 boards with that combo.

The last time these two teams played Kuzma needed OT and a healthy foot to grab 10 boards, we don’t expect the same results tonight. The OddsShopper Pick’em tool has a solid edge for going LOWER than 7.5 rebounds. The implied odds on Underdog are -122 which significantly beats the market price of -136. This gives us a near 5% +EV edge just by using OddsShopper.

LeBron James H/L Than 7.5 Rebounds

Same game, same market. We look to the other side and attack the LeBron James H/L 7.5 Rebound play. We should expect a healthy beating of the Wizards for the reasons above, primarily letdown versus desperation. The Lakers are healthy too (their big 2) which helps fuel an early lead.

James notched just four rebounds in the prior meeting as he was heavily focused on doing other things. Finishing with 31 points and 9 assists, James made his impression elsewhere than on the glass. With a healthy AD, it’s going to be a massive edge for LA down low, and less of an emphasis on James to crash the boards.

We’ve seen James hover around this number for the most part, staying under when other areas of his game are called upon. We should see a similar strategy tonight where James can get his teammates involved and also bang on some injured bodies on the Wizards.

We identify another market edge from the OddsShopper Pick’em tool. With implied odds at -122, OddsShopper found the LOWER than 7.5 rebounds at -131. We gain edge by beating the market price, something consistently provided by OddsShopper.
