Bets Iowa Northwestern Bet: Fade Filip Rebraca?

OddsShopper has recently introduced its premium feature to help bettors get the most value on all moneylines, spreads and player props for major sports. The best Iowa-Northwestern bet per the projections is on the under 13.5 points for Filip Rebraca (-113 on FanDuel Sportsbook). The model gives this bet a 58% chance of hitting, making for an ROI of 9%. It is the highest ROI of any Iowa-Northwestern bet on the board.

Rebraca, the Hawkeyes top big man, is averaging 14.0 points per game but has not been as involved in the Iowa offense of late. He shot an efficient 5-of-7 from the field in the win over the Ohio State Buckeyes Thursday but logged only 17 minutes in the game. Bench forwards Payton Sandfort and Patrick McCaffery both logged more minutes than Rebraca in that game.

The Hawkeyes will now face the tough task of going into Welsh-Ryan Arena, where Northwestern beat Big Ten heavyweights Purdue and Indiana in succession last week.

“It’s more joy than relief,” Northwestern head coach Chris Collins said of the successful season, per USA Today. “I’ve always been someone that wants our guys to feel the happiness and joy when things go well. So I wouldn’t say really relief but joy and pride because of what these older guys, especially, have been through.”

The Sunday night matchup against Iowa will be another measuring stick opportunity for Collins’ squad with the March Madness tournament looming. The latest projection shows that the Wildcats will be able to limit the scoring for at least one of the Hawkeyes’ offensive contributors when trying to pull off the slight upset at home.
