Biggest NBA All-Star Game Bets: Bettor Places Absurd Wager On Team LeBron

Team LeBron has been getting more bets as the slight favorite over Team Giannis ahead of the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night. The rosters for the game will not even be selected until just before game time, but that didn’t stop one bettor from putting in one of the biggest NBA All-Star Game bets we’ve seen in a long time.

Biggest NBA All-Star Game Bets: One Bettor Goes All-In on Team LeBron

Per FanDuel Sportsbook, one bettor threw an absurd $18,000 on Team LeBron (-3) in the biggest NBA All-Star Game bet known to this point.

The All-Star Game offers bettors an opportunity to have some fun on Sunday night, but it’s hard to imagine there’s any justifying throwing a fat $18,000 on a game that normally doesn’t have too much competitiveness. Still, the bettor is certainly thinking that LeBron James will be able to draft a better squad than Giannis Antetokounmpo.

James missed the NBA All-Star Game Media Day in order to tend to a family matter. In the meantime, Antetokounmpo has been taking in all the festivities, serving as a coach for Dwayne Wade’s team in the Celebrity All-Star Game on Friday night. He made it clear during that appearance that he’s looking to win any and all events this weekend.

“I was in it – I wanted to win,” he told the Journal Sentinel. “Afterward, when I retire, I want to be a head coach. A lot of people don’t know that about me, but I want to be a head coach. I really want to be. It’s kind of hard, because you have no control. And, I know the game of basketball, I know how to play the game of basketball, so it’s hard.

Giannis was able to get the win in the Celebrity game, but will likely have a tougher task when going up against LeBron James on Sunday night. James is still being celebrated by the NBA community after passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer earlier in the month.

In his age-38 season, James still ranks seventh in the NBA in PPG (30.0), 28th in rebounding (8.4 rebounds) and 13th in assists (7.0). He has shown that he is still one of the very best players in the league still, and will have another opportunity to prove it on Sunday night.

Based on the biggest NBA All-Star game bets, there are several bettors looking for Team LeBron to take care of Team Giannis. But nobody will be more invested than the bettor who chucked $18,000 on James’ squad.
